Our Mission: Sport as a Force for Positive Change

We believe sports events are more than just competitions – they're powerful catalysts for positive social impact. Our mission is to harness that power to improve physical and mental well-being, inspire new participants (athletes and fans alike), elevate the profile of sports and federations, and create platforms for businesses that share our commitment to community empowerment through sport. Ambitious? Absolutely. We're driven by the belief that sport can transform lives.

Our Story: From London 2012 to a Vision for the Future

Our desire to make a tangible difference through sports events was ignited during the vibrant lead-up to the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. We were deeply involved in activating sponsor partnerships, bringing athlete sponsorship programs to life. Our Managing Director, Karim Bashir, joined forces with event management expert Grant Horan, and together they delivered engaging corporate demonstrations, taster sessions, and masterclasses, all within the traditional workspace environment.

Community Delivery

However, Karim and Grant, driven by a shared vision, saw the potential to go beyond conventional activations. They worked with like-minded sponsors to create more public-facing events, most notably partnering with British Telecom to develop a multi-sport experiential event that ran alongside the Blenheim Palace Horse Trials in the two years leading up to London 2012. This experience demonstrated the power of bringing sport directly to the community.

The Vision

Following the Games, sponsor budgets understandably shifted, but Karim and Grant remained undeterred. They were determined to drive this new approach to corporately funded, public-facing sports events forward. Investing their own resources, they created "The Great British Sports Show," a pilot event held at Westpoint, Exeter.

This event was designed with several key objectives in mind:

  1. To showcase a diverse range of sports over an extended weekend in an accessible indoor space.

  2. To collaborate with National Governing Bodies, offering them a platform to engage with the public at no cost.

  3. To empower local clubs by providing them with opportunities to recruit new members.

  4. To create a safe and affordable environment for families to introduce their children to new sports.

  5. To offer pathways for those interested in volunteering or coaching.

  6. To incorporate a skills-based challenge, guiding participants towards sports aligned with their abilities.

  7. To collect comprehensive participant data.

  8. To gather post-event feedback from all stakeholders and participants.

The response was overwhelmingly positive, with participants and stakeholders alike expressing enthusiasm and requesting future events. This remarkable success validated our belief in the power of community-focused sports events.
